Abstract

Here an attempt has been made to study the working of the Road Transport Corporations in Tamil Nadu which have been lauded by the World Bank and others as efficient transport organisations in the public sector. The focus of this paper is to bringout clearly the inter-relationship between organisational innovativeness and efficiency in the State Transport Undertakings in Tamil Nadu which will help the policy makers an alternative model to tone up the working of the Road Transport Corporations in the other states.
