Abstract

Gautam Sinha traces the slow but sure development of Management Training Institute (MTI), Ranchi, from an in-house training institute for the managers of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) to a world-class centre of management education. Programmes at MTI have attracted participants from other industries in the public sector and in the near future, participation from the private sector is expected.
