Abstract
This manuscript researches and reports the importance ef measuring spiritual orientation in individuals. After conceptualizing spiritual orientation, an attempt has been made to construct and validate a scale to measure it. An 18-items Likerts' type scale has been developed, using the confirmatory factor analysis. The goodness of fit index is .90 for the six dimensions of spiritual orientation, which are: 1) Service towards humankind; 2) Feeling of inner peace and calm; 3) Being vision and value led; 4) Inter-connectedness; 5) Respect for others; 6) Self-awareness. A construct validity test has been conducted using Maslach and Jackson's burnout inventory. Five dimensions of the scale had an alpha value above .60. The self-awareness dimension had an alpha value of .50. Alpha value of the overall scale with 18 items was .82.
