Socio-economic empowerment of women is expected to transform intra-household decision-making processes by reshaping normative gender roles. This study examines the impact of the Mahila Samakhya (MS) program—a community-based women’s empowerment initiative—on women’s educational attainment and age at marriage. To our knowledge, this is the first national-level analysis of the performance of the MS program using nationally representative data.
