Abstract
The book by Prof. P. N. Rastogi attempts to analyze a wide range of topics and issues as the title indicates on important concerns of Productivity, Innovation, Management and Development. Not only just of one country, which
in itself would be a very Herculean task, but of 3 different nations, which are complex large societies, each in its own right. The three nations covered by Prof. Rastogi are America, Japan and India. The positive aspects of the book are that it has a very large sweep and a broad coverage in which it tries to raise the relevant and important issues connected with Productivity, innovation, Management and Development. An attempt is made to provide a common framework of looking at the three complex societies. For example, this frame work consists of looking at the basal values of national cultures (P. 101)
including those of Japan, America and !ndia so also looking at the issues of
Government industry relationship in the three Nations.
