Abstract

Organisational commitment continues to be a topical issue in management research and of great relevance to the practising manager. The commitment of employees is obviously an area of interest in human resources management, the assumption being that employee commitment enhances performance and organisational effectiveness. Research findings and literature on organisational commitment provide some pointers and lessons for human resource managers, which would be well worth examining.
