Abstract

The book is an original and comprehensive work of research on entrepreneurship. It is an important contribution on the subject, and the work is certainly among the most rigorous management research done in India. The research departs from conventional research on entrepreneurship in two significant ways one, it focuses on the question of ‘what entrepreneurs do’ rather than on ‘what entrepreneurs are’ two, it empirically tests an existing typology of entrepreneurs. The case survey methodology, though not very common in management research, brings quantitative rigour to a work based on qualitative data.
